SaleZap ("we", "our", or "us") is a product owned and operated by CodeLab Software LLP. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform, website (salezap.ai), and any related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, business name, and password when you register.
  • Billing Information: Payment card details processed securely via our payment processors (Razorpay / Stripe). We do not store full card numbers.
  • Business Data: Customer contact lists, message templates, chatbot flows, and CRM data you upload or create within the platform.
  • Communications: Messages and conversations you send through or manage via SaleZap, including WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook messages processed through official APIs.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, time spent, clicks, and interactions within the platform.
  • Device & Log Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and access timestamps.
  • Cookies & Tracking: We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies for authentication, analytics, and performance. See Section 8 for details.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Meta (Facebook/Instagram/WhatsApp): When you connect your Meta Business accounts, we receive account identifiers, page/profile data, and messaging permissions as authorized by you via Meta's OAuth flow. This is referred to in this policy as "Meta Platform Data".
  • Shopify: When you install the SaleZap Shopify app, we receive store information, order data, customer data, and product data necessary to provide the Service, in accordance with Shopify's API Terms.
  • Analytics Providers: Aggregated data from Google Analytics, PostHog, and similar tools.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, operate, and improve the Service.
  • To send transactional messages (account confirmations, billing receipts, support responses).
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • To personalize your experience and deliver relevant content.
  • To analyze usage patterns and improve platform performance.
  • To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
  • To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and platform policies (including the Meta Platform Terms, Developer Policies, and the Shopify Partner Program Agreement).
  • To communicate product updates, feature announcements, and promotional offers (you may opt out at any time).

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:

  • Service Providers: Hosting (AWS/DigitalOcean), payment processors (Razorpay/Stripe), email services (SendGrid), analytics tools, and customer support platforms, under strict data processing agreements.
  • Meta Platforms: Data exchanged via WhatsApp Business API, Instagram Graph API, and Facebook Graph API as necessary to deliver messaging features you have enabled.
  • Shopify: Data shared with Shopify as required to operate the SaleZap Shopify app in accordance with Shopify's Partner Program Agreement.
  • Legal Compliance: When required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SaleZap, CodeLab Software LLP, our users, or the public.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality obligations.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 5). Certain data may be retained longer where required by law or legitimate business interests (e.g., billing records for tax compliance).

5. Data Deletion & How to Request It

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data and any data we hold about you, including data obtained from Meta (Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp). You can request deletion in any of the following ways:

  • By email: Send a deletion request to support@salezap.ai from the email address associated with your account.
  • Revoke platform access: Remove SaleZap from your Meta account at any time via Facebook/Instagram Settings → Business Integrations / Apps and Websites. This immediately stops further data collection from Meta.

Once we receive and verify a deletion request, we will delete the associated personal data and Meta Platform Data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. For complete, step-by-step instructions, see our Data Deletion Instructions.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten") - see Section 5.
  • Portability: Request transfer of your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection / Restriction: Object to or restrict certain processing activities.
  • Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS/SSL encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, role-based access controls, regular security audits, and multi-factor authentication for administrative access. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use the following types of cookies:

  • Essential Cookies: Required for the platform to function (authentication sessions, CSRF protection).
  • Analytics Cookies: Google Analytics and PostHog to understand usage patterns (can be disabled via browser settings or our cookie banner).
  • Marketing Cookies: Meta Pixel and Google Ads for measuring the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns.

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings or our cookie consent banner. Disabling essential cookies may affect platform functionality.

9. Meta Platform Data

SaleZap integrates with Meta's WhatsApp Business API, Instagram Graph API, and Facebook Graph API. Meta Platform Data received through these integrations is used solely to provide the features you have explicitly authorized.

  • We comply with the Meta Platform Terms, the Developer Policies, and Meta's limited-use requirements.
  • We do not use Meta Platform Data to target advertising, to build user profiles for third parties, to sell or license data, or for any purpose outside the permitted use cases defined by Meta's policies.
  • We do not use SaleZap, our apps, or our developer account to circumvent, bypass, or interfere with any enforcement action, restriction, or limitation imposed by Meta, and we do not create or maintain apps for that purpose (Meta Platform Term 7.e.i).
  • Meta Platform Data is retained only for as long as necessary to provide the Service and is deleted upon your request or upon revocation of access (see Section 5).

You can revoke SaleZap's access to your Meta accounts at any time via your Meta account settings, which immediately stops further data collection from Meta.

10. Shopify App Data

SaleZap's Shopify integration accesses store data (orders, customers, products) solely to provide the automation and marketing features offered by the Service. We comply with Shopify's Partner Program Agreement and API Terms of Service. Shopify merchants can uninstall the SaleZap app at any time, which will terminate our access to their store data. Upon uninstallation, we will delete store data within 30 days unless retention is required by law.

11. International Data Transfers

SaleZap, operated by CodeLab Software LLP, operates primarily from India. If you access the Service from outside India, your data may be transferred to and processed in India or other countries where our service providers operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

12. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
